The
National Safety Council’s “
Supervisors’ Development Program” will
educate your supervisors and team leaders about the importance of health &
safety issues in the workplace. Candidates will be provided with the skills and
knowledge necessary to eliminate workplace hazards, educate employees in safe
work practices & procedures, and enforce all safety rules and policies. This
course reflects the organizational structure and management philosophy shift
toward empowered employees and self – directed teams.

– Barriers, Effective Techniques….
Human Performance Management
– Taking Corrective Action, Giving Praise, Conducting Meetings….
Employee Safety Training
– How to Prepare the Employee, Present the Work Operation, Observe the
Employee and Follow Up.
Employee Involvement
– Motivating Employees, Promoting Team Building & Expecting Safe Conduct
from Employees.
Safety, Health & Environmental
Auditing – Continuous Inspections,
Formal in-House Inspections & Formal Inspections with Outside Help.
DAY 2:
“ Supervisory Skills cont., Protecting Workers & Making the Job
Safe.”
Accident Investigation –
Industrial Hygiene – PPE – Ergonomics – Hand & Portable Power Tools
DAY 3:
“Making the Job Safe”
Material Handling & Storage –
Electrical & Fire Safety – Hazard Communication – Environmental
Management
EXAMS: There will be a closed book exam at the end of
each day.
CEU's:
2.4 CEU's from the
Massachusetts Safety Council
ATTENDANCE: Participants
can attend individual days or all three. Each day of the program is repeated
twice a year, in the spring & fall. NSC certificates are awarded only to those who
complete all three days.
