Supervisors’ Development   : Program  Day 2

The National Safety Council Supervisors’ Development Program will train the supervisor or team leader in the importance of safety & health. This program will provide them with the skills and knowledge necessary to reduce workplace hazards, educate employees in safe work practices & procedures, and enforce corporate safety rules and policies. The roles and responsibilities of the first-line supervisor & team leader have changed to reflect the organizational structures & management philosophies shift toward empowered employees & self-directed work teams.

Day Two:  Developing Supervisor/Team Leader Skills : Making the Job Safe

·         Accident/Incident Investigation: Recognizing, Understanding & Controlling Hazards that Cause Injuries.

·         Industrial Hygiene: Anticipating, Recognizing, Evaluating & Controlling Occupational Health Hazards

·         Personal Protective Equipment: Importance of PPE & How to Motivate Employees to Properly Use PPE

·         Ergonomics:  Repetitive Motion, Excessive Twisting, Bending, Reaching, Poorly Designed Workstations, Insufficient Lighting, Temperature Extremes & Poorly Designed Tools.

·         Machine Safeguarding: Identifying Mechanical Hazards & Implementing Machine Safeguarding Programs.

Exam:  Closed book on daily  modules.
Registration:  Check-in at 8:00am, class begins at 8:30am and adjourns by 4:30pm.
Tuition:  Includes refreshment break, lunch & training material -      $175 (single day), $375 (all 3 days) for members      
                                                                                         $215 (single day), $475 (all 3 days) for members       CEU’s:   2.4  from the Massachusetts Safety Council
Attendance:   Participants can attend individual days or all three. Each day of the program is repeated twice a year, in the spring & fall.  NSC Certificates of Completion are only provided to those who complete all three days
